Bangga aku menamakan kawan aku sebagai “guru” aku iaitu en. bicaramanis yang telah membuka pintu dari sekian banyak pintu2 yang tak ter’explore’ lagi dalam kepala otakku kuniaan Allah ini!

Kerawang and other Malay decorative patterns and motives are my favourite. Always try to adopt these element into my graphic works. Kalau bukan aku, siapa lagi?

My Cartoon Characters; Kak Yong and Achik
I developed (or found) my cartoon drawing skills during a week stay at home “enjoying” my medical leave suffering from demam pelentong ( not sure the exact medical term for it) when I was in Form 2. I was “detained” in a room, kept out from any contact with other siblings, served special food (kukus2 je) and provided with TV! With pencils and papers in my hand drawing,  I also got to watch opening ceremony of Olympic Barcelona Live!

Gema Suara Merdeka 2005 IIUM (Banner, Poster, certificate)
Poetry Week in IIUM organized by Poetry Club, in collabaration with PENA. I remembered it was postponed due to water supply shortage for almost 2 weeks in IIUM. When I was at my Bro’s house to have a bath and do some laundries, I watched Buletin Utama and surprised to see the news about the “kemarau” went national, because it affected so many people around Gombak – and there was on the screen; smiling and confidently answering to Buletin Utama reporters – our Gema Suara Merdeka programme Director: Sis. Khairunnasriah Abdul Salam!  hahaha

Mock Trial 2003 (poster & goodies badge)
An annual programme organized by Ahmad Ibrahim Kuliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) student, usually takes place during convocation fiesta. I was and am still not sure what went wrong, but I got the chance to design publicity items of the same programme for three consecutive years! Hatric isn’t it?
This year’s was based on Sydney Sheldon’s novel – a famous legal-thriller novel writer! (which I never read.. heheh)

Mock Trial 2004 (Taksub : Al-Mau’nah) – poster
This year’s was based on the actual case of Al-Mau’nah. I got chance to see some of the post-mortem pictures from the police officers handling the case (gosh.. so horrifying!) This was actually the original design, which our director had advised me to use other faces (coz it kinda potraying Arabs as terrorist – might hurt Arab students).. so, I had tried to find some Malay faces on the net… and I did! So, the second design was approved and pasted all over our university. Ticket agents were surprised when they was questioned whether this and that guy will actually appear on the stage (especially from Thai student) . Turned out, the new faces I replaced were those of popular actors of Thailand!  Ooops!

This year’s was based on actual case (English I think) – improvised with local characters and values.

Pesta Pantun MAKUM 2006 - IIUM (Poster & certificate)

I designed the poster and certificate for the programme I actually participate as contestant (representing IIUM) – no bias nature kan? The green version of the poster was rejected and replaced with purple.. all in the name of democracy! (no laaa.. b’coz Hijau means PAS, so promoting hijau/opposition party is a big NO-NO! in public university). The competition will remain my bad memories ever! (sebab untuk pertama kali aku terpinga-pinga tak jawab soalan pantun sampai habis masa!!!) Anyway, I always thought the green version’s better.. (i like PAS?? oooppsss)
